My Paintings are Going to a Gallery

I really worked hard on the details of this one.

This is a plant that we bought, I picked the most beautiful one I could find, no expense was spared as I told myself it would be impossible to make a mistake painting it, this is definitely going to the gallery.
This is my fiance.
I have never studied chess but I am pretty good, I figure this is completely because of the things in life that I felt needed obsessively careful study.
I just wanted to make something beautiful, the red is so pretty in this.
There is this, kind of neglected art gallery in our town, no one makes a big deal about it, but it is amazing, all local artists. The owner has the highest credentials you can get in art, B.A. etc., and paints things like courage, and the hallucinating crippled man, this person seems a genius. They, after getting the highest and best schooling in art, worked with convicts evaluating their talent, that's all it says in his profile. He has artists that paint, do digital art, sculpting, jewelery, one of each kind of art. They do art considered with ideas; pain, Latinos, humbleness of mankind, all profound ideas, just the place I really need. I asked if I could ever put my painting there and he said the only problem would be it would take1-6 months to put it up!!!!

The Poor Beggar Man

A poor beggar man went to a store to get what little food he was able to buy, the small loose change in his pocket scared him as he left the house. As he was walking a rich women shouted something awful at him, along with the careful company she kept, he looked at her, knowing how far she would be if he had decided to say something, he turned away and kept walking.

Self-Portrait

Painting like this is just plain fun.

Trying

I got a bit too creative with this one, but I was in an awful mood anyway.
It's more alien design thingys, thing, but the green just ended it. I used Q-tips for the background, which was the suspense.

Cool Retreat to a Night Cut-Off from Civilization

Civilization, that's what they call it, but there's nothing civil about it. My friend died when I was 19, he was 17. I painted this for his family, becasue this is what we did. Late at night, we found fields to just stand in. We would stand in silence and just look around, say a few words, stand in silence. Each night we would perhaps have to find a new one because of whatever. It doesn't look finished, but I don't know what else I would put in it.

Alien Art

I'm proud of this one. I really draw these little circle-pattern-thingys alot, I think they express energy really well. Crop circles are made up of the same idea. They used to be really comforting, in times where it only made sense to draw some wierd-looking energy. I drew them in school, in the car, while talking, before and after eating, when I did not know WHAT to draw. I have gotten pretty good at them now.

Jacob's Pillar

This was my first attept at expressing an idea.
I do notice an obsession with Jacob everywhere, but it may be just with my family. My mom will often say something that sounds exactly like the story of Jacob.
It was also my first Bible story, when little, that stuck.
It is Jacob's pillar to God.

Relaxing at the Park

We were resting at a park, homeless looking for a rest, wanting to sit down to a snack, luckily my fiance insisted on getting a large notepad and pencils. My dad draws like this, except they are vast sweeping works, he draws scenes of Alaska, detailed flowers, rivers, and mountains of trees, also, scenes of Alaska; how it was in villages without running water, or heat, but many of his drawings are done with pen. This is where I get my fascination with art and drawing. One day I would really like to be able to draw like him, a generation down, I get more detailed in drawing.
He has an equal fascination with pens. We love our pens, from precious ballpoint to inky needle-point pens, a huge collection of pens is a constant necessity for breathing air.

Why Hello

I'm Lotus, I don't quite know what to post yet, but I'll tell you a bit about myself. I love my fiance, and we do everything together, we read, go to school, discover movies, and enjoy huge amounts of coffee in the morning. We are Christian. We live in art, he plays the piano and is amazing at it, I paint. That's what we do, and want to share art with the world, passionately in love with creating, we try our best to create art as complicated as everyone is.
Though I have yet to become good at painting (being comfortable with sitting down and creating), I work on it. I want to take classes but don't have the time or means yet...
